Caddie positions are available for the 2016 Syncrude Boreal Open. A caddie is considered employed by the player, and is not considered to be a tournament volunteer. Caddies are paid a minimum of $35 per round.
Caddie or golfing experience is beneficial, but not necessary. Applicants must be able to carry a large bag for 18 holes and should be a minimum of 14 years of age.
Preferred availability for caddies is Thursday, August 4 to Sunday, August 7, although we may be able to accommodate some caddies who can only work two of the four days (i.e. Thurs/Fri or Sat/Sun). A minimum of two consecutive days is required.
Player tee times will vary throughout the tournament. This means caddies are required to be availabe from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., although shifts will be approximately 5 hrs in length. A caddie may be required to start early one morning and later in the day on the next.
Some players also like to have caddies for pro-am and practice rounds, so if you are available on Tuesday, August 2 or Wednesday, August 3, please indicate this on your application.
Below is a testimonial from our youngest caddie in 2014:
"I really enjoyed my time
as a caddie. I love the game of golf and this was a great way to
experience it from a professional view and learn golf etiquette too. The
pros I worked with were great guys; understanding, patient & fun! I
can't wait to caddie again in the Boreal Open! " - Wesley
